edjufy Mobile Release Notes
On this page you will find an overview of all versions of the edjufy Mobile App.
The app is available for iOS and Android and enables teachers, legal guardians and pupils to access the edjufy platform on the go.
Version 2.7.1

This update shows the new overall grade in the grade view and fixes issues in the grade view and with the app passcode.
Legal guardians and pupils now also see the overall grade under "Final grades" in the grade view, provided the teacher has locked an overall grade across several school years for the lesson.
In addition, each grade area in the grade view now shows the average of its own grades, and where there are no grades yet, no average appears instead of "NaN" or "0,00". For composite lessons whose final grade is calculated from the linked lessons, the deviating average no longer appears. With the app passcode enabled, the lock appears immediately when you return to the app, the Face ID prompt is no longer hidden behind the logo, and content is no longer briefly visible before unlocking. This update brings the new Consents module, shows the rooms of your lessons, extends the Messenger and makes the number on the app icon easier to understand.
With the new Consents module, legal guardians and adult pupils give, decline or revoke a consent directly in the app, depending on the requirements by signing on the screen or with a code sent by email. Under "Publications" you see which publications concern your child or yourself. Teachers manage their own consents and, with the corresponding permission, can view open consents, record answers and scans and check before a publication whether the required consents are in place. Please note that this module must be activated by your school.
The timetable, the class register and the dashboard now show the room of every lesson, provided your school has entered it. Teachers choose the room in the class register entry and see which rooms are already occupied. In the Rooms module, lessons appear as occupied.
In the Messenger, teachers can specify which pupil a conversation with legal guardians is about when they start it. Persons who cannot receive messages yet appear greyed out with the reason and, for messages to groups, are added automatically as soon as possible.
The bell on the dashboard now shows the same number as the app icon. In the notification center, "Unread elsewhere" lists unread Messenger messages and notifications of your other schools, and when switching schools you see the unread entries of each school. Signing in via SSO has become more secure.
In addition, buttons and labels are easier to read in all color schemes, and texts are no longer cut off with an enlarged system font. During maintenance the app shows the maintenance notice, links from emails and notifications open the matching view in more cases, and uploads and the date selection work more reliably. This update brings a new dashboard with widgets, a notification center and counters for open tasks in the navigation.
The dashboard now shows your school day in widgets, for example "Today's lessons", "Unread", "Open tasks", "Upcoming dates" and the quick links. Tapping an entry opens the matching list already filtered. Via "Customize dashboard" you change the order, hide widgets or add your own links and notes. Your layout applies on all your devices, and quick links you have already set up are carried over. Which widgets appear depends on the modules your school has activated.
Teachers, legal guardians and pupils now find all notifications in the new notification center, reachable via the menu item "Notifications" or the bell on the dashboard. In the settings, under "Notifications", you decide whether you receive a notification by email, app push or on the web, and set quiet hours or a pause. The number on the app icon now includes the unread notifications and Messenger messages of all your schools.
Teachers see in the menu and on the quick links how many excuses, leave requests and sports excuses are waiting for their decision. We fixed an issue where the lists "My open" and "Assigned to me" stayed empty for some teachers, and menus in the Messenger are no longer covered by the open keyboard. This update brings new permissions for parent letters, more flexible deadlines for excuses, improvements to attachments in the Messenger and a few bug fixes.
Schools can now restrict teachers to their own parent letters. If you do not have the permission for other teachers' parent letters, the menu item "All parent letters" is hidden, and the app only offers the actions you are allowed to carry out. As long as your school administration does not adjust the permissions, nothing changes.
For legal guardians and pupils, the deadlines for creating an excuse, that is how far back, how far in advance and for how long, now follow your school's settings. Previously, fixed limits applied.
You now open file attachments in the Messenger directly in the app. On the iPhone, PDF files are shown in the app and can be shared or saved from there. Other files and images are passed on via the share menu, for example to save them to Files or to open them in another app.
In the Messenger, links to the web version now open the matching section in the app, and the evaluation of a parent letter no longer stays empty when opened via a link. The update is rounded off by small improvements under the hood.

This update brings three new modules to the edjufy Mobile app at once, Rooms, Resources and Attendances, along with new features for all users and several bug fixes.
Teachers and pupils can now book rooms and resources, for example devices, directly in the app. The occupancy plan shows what is free or occupied, with "Find a room" and "Find a resource" you search for what is available in a given period, and under "My bookings" you manage your bookings and requests. Teachers can additionally book via a calendar, create series and, where they are responsible, approve the requests of others. For resources you can also report defects, with a photo if you like, and those responsible record the handout and the return. The app informs you about requests, decisions and changes by notification. Please note that both modules have to be activated by your school and additionally enabled for pupils.
For teachers there is the new Attendances module with the lists "Today", "My attendances" and "All attendances", which can be filtered and sorted. With the required permission you can also create, edit and delete attendances there. This module has to be activated by your school as well. In the class register entry, each attendance now shows who created it, you can switch between "Only mine" and "All", and you can delete attendances you recorded yourself. For cancelled lessons, the class register points out that no attendance check can be carried out.
At schools that have absences generated automatically, these are now marked "Automatically generated" for teachers. If the pupil was present after all, choose "Record as present" in the class register entry. In the attendance check, pre-filled entries that you did not change are no longer saved along. The notice about the sick certificate requirement now also appears on excuses when it applies to an entire class, and teachers already see it when creating an excuse.
In the settings, "Active sessions" shows you on which devices you are signed in and lets you sign out individual devices or all other devices. The quick links on the home screen can be added to, removed and reordered via "Edit". Legal guardians and pupils now have a Download Center as well. Among other things, we fixed that the app could sign you out when the connection was poor at startup, and that teachers without the required permission could compose an announcement in the Messenger which then failed to send. On Android devices, password managers can now fill in the login details. The update is rounded off by further small improvements under the hood.

This update mainly makes the attendance check and the class register more reliable for teachers, and it brings a few new features and bug fixes for all users.
In the attendance check we fixed several bugs that could cause entries to be lost although the app reported that saving was successful. Late arrivals are now saved together with the related excuse, even when you create a class register entry for a different day. The time of a late arrival is pre-filled with the start of the lesson and has to lie within the lesson. If individual pupils could not be saved, the app now names them explicitly instead of reporting success. Pupils who are already absent are pre-filled as absent, and "Mark all present" skips absent and excused pupils. A running absence can now be ended directly in the attendance check, late arrivals are shown as "Late" and the counter of present pupils is correct again.
In the class register, teachers can now delete a recorded attendance directly in the class register entry, provided they have the required permission and the entry is not locked. The buttons for saving and editing now always stay visible at the bottom of the screen in the class register and in the attendance check, even for large classes and courses. When editing a class register entry, your unsaved changes are kept when you end or delete an absence there. Absences can now also be created for future days. In all forms of the app, the view now jumps to the first field that still needs to be corrected after saving has failed.
Teachers with the required permission can reject a leave request that has already been accepted. The related excuse is rejected automatically along with it, which teachers, legal guardians and pupils can follow in the history of the excuse. The menu item "Absence" under excuses is now called "Leave of absence" and only shows the matching entries, previously it showed the same list as "All".
In the school calendar we fixed a bug that could leave the calendar empty when a previously selected calendar was no longer available, for example after the change of the school year. Changes to the calendar selection, the filter or the month are now also applied while the entries are still loading.
In the school announcements module, pupils now consistently read "school announcement" instead of "parent letter" and get a clear explanation instead of an error message when their school does not allow responses from pupils. Grey hint texts and the labels in the colour scheme selection are easier to read. On Android devices, links to the Messenger and to the user profile now open directly in the app. We also unified numerous texts, for example "Sportentschuldigung", "Schüler:in" and "Regelunterricht" in the German version. This update fixes two bugs. In the school calendar, the calendar selection stayed empty, so teachers, legal guardians and pupils could not select any calendars, not even when creating or editing an appointment. The calendars now load reliably again.
In the Messenger, the input field on Android tablets in landscape mode is now shown above the keyboard. Previously it was hidden behind the keyboard, so the text being typed could not be seen. The update is rounded off by minor under-the-hood improvements.

This update brings new features for teachers, legal guardians and pupils to the edjufy Mobile App and fixes several bugs.
The timetable and the class register now show the type of every lesson. Substitutions, cancellations, stand-by lessons, office hours and voluntary lessons are marked with a coloured label directly on the entry, while regular lessons remain unmarked as usual. Cancelled lessons are additionally crossed out so that they stand out immediately even in a narrow week view and in all colour schemes. Previously, all entries in the timetable looked the same, regardless of their type. We have also unified the detail view of a lesson: teachers, legal guardians and pupils now see the same information there.
Legal guardians and pupils now also see the lesson documentation and the homework for a planned lesson in the timetable. The lesson documentation appears directly on the entry, and both details can be found in the detail view when you tap it. Please note that your school has to enable the sharing of this content for the timetable.
For teachers, the class register can no longer be displayed day by day only: the settings icon lets you choose between the day, 3-day and week view and show Saturdays and Sundays if required. Your selection is saved. The arrows move by the whole visible period. All-day entries such as absences, excuses, sports excuses and disciplinary records as well as the day notes are shown per day and can be opened from the respective day. Parallel lessons can be reached through a separate overview in the narrow columns. If a period cannot be loaded, a message is now displayed instead of the day simply looking empty.
Also new in the class register is the "Disadvantage compensation" section: when creating, viewing and editing a class register entry, teachers see the stored disadvantage compensation information for the pupils concerned. The section is collapsed and purely informational, and it only appears if your school has enabled it. We have also fixed a bug that prevented a disciplinary record from being created out of the class register, because the form closed when pupils were selected. The form now opens as its own page, takes over the date and the lesson from the class register entry, and clearly points out when no pupils have been selected yet.
Comments can now also be added to excuses, leave requests and sports excuses that have already been accepted; previously this was only possible while the case was open or rejected. There, too, teachers now decide for themselves whether a comment remains internal or is visible to legal guardians and pupils; for accepted cases it was always internal before. You are informed about a new comment by a notification. For teachers, tapping a notification about an excuse or a leave request now opens the respective case, whereas previously nothing happened.

This update brings two new features for legal guardians and pupils to the edjufy Mobile App and fixes numerous bugs.
The timetable can now be displayed not only day by day, but also as a 3-day and as a week view. The week view is the new default. The new icon in the top right corner of the timetable opens the view settings, where you can choose the desired view and, if required, also show Saturdays and Sundays. Your selection is saved. Depending on the view, the arrows move by days or by whole weeks, school calendar entries are shown directly on the respective day, and individual timetable entries can be tapped for further details.
Also new is the disciplinary records module for legal guardians and pupils. If your school has enabled sharing, you can see the shared records clearly arranged in the app, filter them by type and period, and you are informed by a notification as soon as a new record has been shared with you. Tapping the notification opens the record directly. For disciplinary records, teachers now enter a documentation that can be shared, as well as an optional internal comment that remains visible to teachers only.
In the class register, we have fixed several bugs around the attendance check for teachers: attendances are loaded again and can be recorded directly from the class register entry, late arrivals are detected correctly, and when adding a new attendance only pupils who still lack an entry are offered. Disciplinary records within the class register also work reliably again.
In addition, we have fixed bugs that prevented some content from loading in the previous version, including the grade view for legal guardians and pupils, class register entries and calendar entries in the timetable, and the hints about school calendar entries when creating excuses, leave requests and sports excuses. On Android devices, the keyboard no longer covers input fields, and in dark mode lists are now displayed consistently in the dark design. This update brings several new features to the edjufy Mobile App.
Teachers can now use reusable text presets: frequently used comments can be created once and then inserted with a single tap into the comment fields of excuses, leave requests and sports excuses. This saves time on recurring responses.
In the class register, teachers can now add pupil-specific entries for lesson notes and homework. Legal guardians and pupils see these individual notes directly in the corresponding timetable entry.
Also new is the Download Center: teachers can request their exports, such as the responses to a parent letter, directly in the app and then retrieve them together in one central place. As soon as an export is ready, you are informed by a notification.
In Grade Management, the app now additionally supports percentage and Swiss grades and displays decimal grades in the familiar format.
In addition, we have updated the app's technical foundation and made numerous bug fixes and further under-the-hood improvements.

With Version 2.0, the edjufy Mobile App reaches an important milestone: for the first time, all edjufy features are now also available to teachers in the app. From the digital class register and the management of absences and excuses to parent letters – the entire school day can now conveniently be organised on the go.
In addition, the app comes with a completely redesigned look and feel. New color schemes, including a dark mode, let you adapt the appearance of the app to your personal preferences and to the time of day.
We have also stepped things up when it comes to security: the app can now additionally be protected with a passcode, Face ID or Touch ID – for even greater safety of your sensitive school and personal data.
